OCEAN PHILIP BERESFORD
Ocean Philip Beresford, aged 39, of Mays Landing, passed away on December 11, 2023. Born in Pleasantville, NJ, Ocean was the only child and son of JoEIIa Spence Beresford (predeceased) and Philip Raymond Beresford, who resides in Guyana.
Ocean lost his mother, JoEIIa, at the age of 8 and was raised by his grandmother, Joyce J. Beresford, during his elementary school years until his graduation from high school.
Ocean was a naturally talented artist and graduated from Arthur P. Schalick High School in Pittsgrove, NJ. After his graduation in 2002, he left New Jersey for California to pursue a degree in animation art. His love for Asian animated art inspired him to travel to Japan to learn more about and experience Japanese culture.
Some years after his return from Japan, he married Rana Beresford and started a family. He was a loving father and shared many memorable moments with his two daughters, Odette and Penny (Penelope).
He worked for Marriott Vacations Worldwide in Galloway, NJ, and later at the Island House Condominiums in Margate, NJ, in property management.
He is held in our hearts by memories, carried by those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his mother, JoEIIa J. Beresford, and his grandmother, Joyce J. Beresford. Ocean is survived by his daughter Olivia Rowe (mother Ally), daughters, Odette and Penelope Beresford (mother Rana), and his father, Raymond Philip Beresford of Guyana, his aunts Reubena Spence, and Madeline Gale of Montclair, NJ, his uncle, Reuben Spence Jr., and aunt Kimberly, and cousin Stephen of Egg Harbor Township.
He is also survived by his grandfather Reuben J Spence and his wife Carolyn, also of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, uncles David Beresford and Michael Richards from Texas.
A celebration of Ocean's life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 12 pm, at Estell Manor Park, Pavilion A.
